This part of my topic corresponding to the use of communication in the business context. In our online course, we have learned many very useful aspects of business communication theoretically and practically as well. Here I am going to focus again on the definition and introductory parts of the business communication.
Business communication refers to the exchange of information between individuals inside and outside of the organization, which aims to obtain profits for the organization. Business communication can be defined simply by transferring information in a business by the internal and external employees and shareholders of the organizations. Business communication includes the following topics:
Marketing refers, on the one hand, to that part of the company whose task is to market or to offer for sale products and services in such a way that the buyers perceive this offer as desirable; on the other hand, this term describes a concept of holistic, market-oriented corporate management to meet the needs and expectations of customers and other stakeholders. This develops the marketing understanding from an operational technique to influence the purchasing decision to a leading concept that performs other functions such as procurement, production, administration, and personnel.
Brand management or Brand techniques are the structure and further development of a brand over time. The main objective of brand management is to distinguish one’s performance from the offer of competitors and to differentiate itself noticeably from the competitors via its products or services.
Customer relationship management( CRM) refers to the consistent orientation of a company towards its customers and the systematic design of customer relationship processes. The associated documentation and management of customer relationships is an important building block and enables in-depth relationship marketing. In many sectors (e.g. telecommunications, mail order business, service companies) business-to-customer relationships are long-term. With CRM, these customer relationships are maintained, which should have a significant impact on the company’s success.
Customer behavior (including purchasing behavior, consumer behavior or buyer behavior) is meant the behavior of the buyer concerning the purchase of goods.
Advertising is the dissemination of information to the public or selected target groups, to publicize, promoting sales or maintaining the image of mostly for-profit companies or their products and services, is rarely also used for free, non-profit-oriented services or information.
Public relations term was used for the first time at Yale University (USA) in 1882. The terms may refer both to a mediation activity between organizations and their reference groups and to the unit of an organization that is responsible for them.
Corporate Communication records all internal communication processes, such as teamwork or decision-making processes and covers all external communication processes as well.
Reputation management is the controlling, monitoring and influence of the reputation of an individual, group, organization or product.
Interpersonal communication comprises communication or communication processes from the perspective that the people, in particular, are the communicators. This perspective is more specific than the more general view of communication, in which all living beings are involved.
Interorganizational communication explains the structures, forms, and processes created by the exchange of messages and the co-creation of meaning among organizations and their stakeholders, which comprises four different sorts of relations: affinity, flow, representational, and semantic*.
There are also some other topics like; employee engagement (the popular definition is from William Kahn which is recognized as the first formal definition of personnel engagement it is: „the harnessing of organization members‘ selves to their work roles; in engagement, people employ and express themselves physically, cognitively, and emotionally during role performances“), and event management (refers to the use of project management techniques to organize ceremonies, events or large-scale meetings such as festivals, conferences, concerts, or conventions. The process of planning and coordinating can include budgeting, scheduling, selecting the place, obtaining necessary permits, coordinating the transportation, arranging speakers or artists, setting décor, security, reception, and coordination with third-party vendors.
These are closely related to the fields of professional communication and technical communication.
